Continuing on the conversation about cleaning up the craft room so it could really be used, functional and enjoyable. What’s a craft room with your supplies all nicely organized?
Organized Storage Areas!
Now, in between this sewing area and the big work table, I’ve organized all my ribbon. I used a big shoe rack and I couldn’t love it any more… except if I painted it white. How awesome is this organized ribbon??
I’m pretty sure the ribbon rack is my favorite new addition to this space. I picked up the shoe rack at a thrift store 2-3 years ago for $20. I kept saying I’d paint it… and I needed to adapt it so the ribbon wouldn’t fall through the dowels. FINALLY, this past weekend I made the changes so the ribbon would stay put (tutorial later), and decided it was ok to use it without painting it. The ribbon used to be in big plastic bins and now look at it… Ahhhhhh!
Another area I worked on what my craft paint storage. This is my favorite favorite place in the room because there is so much color inspiration. You might have seen the paint storage cabinet doors already. I shared a tutorial after I made it. Well now I also added mini crates for additional paint – which I’ve organized by color and divided so the kids know which paint they can and can not use.
The bins under the counter are even more types of paint.. and one big tub of glitter. Some day I will make a fun display for all the glitter.. but for now, it stays nice and safe in a plastic tub so it won’t spread even more that it already does.
This same area also includes additional colored pencils stored both under the cabinets in cans and hanging on the side of the cabinet, in more cans. Good thing I save cans!
Now let’s go look at my photo light box and some of my other craft storage.
