I added a lazy susan on the table with aluminum cans full of different drawing supplies… some are mine and some are my daughter’s. There’s also scissors and and a few other regular use tools in a couple other cans not shown on in this photo. On the table there is also a spice rack I painted white and filled all the jars with fun embellishments, necessities like paper clips and safety pins… and of course, glitter. This is one of my favorite craft room accessories. Tiny jars full of tiny supplies.. cute, cute and awwww… so cute!
Craft Room Sewing Area!
On the other side of the work table I added in a sewing area. I set up a desk for my daughter and then a table for myself. Really, these work areas are a little small for any kind of substantial sewing project. However, the sewing machines could easily be moved to make more room for one person to sew. It’s more likely I’ll just stitch little projects… I can’t tell you how happy this space it for me… finally, a table just for a sewing machine and I don’t have to put it away!
This brown desk used to be my grandmothers.. cool huh?
There’s a curtain that divides this room from the kid’s play room. Eventually, we will be putting a wall here. I have had a dream for about 3 years now, to build a wall with doors. My parents gave us a bunch of solid wood doors after they replaced their doors in a home improvement project. Until this week, all the doors have been sitting in my garage. I put a couple up behind some cabinets in the sewing area, so block off the creepy under-the-stairs area and added another little hinged closet door in the corner of the sewing area. I think eventually I’ll paint it and add some fun art to it.
Those white cabinets behind the sewing tables? Those hold all my sewing stuffs. One is crazy message with all kinds of things shoved into it. The other is fabric, all nicely organized by color. I’m only showing you the pretty one today.
Now let’s talk about organized storage areas. That’s really the key to a great craft or creative space, right?
