Printable Cupcake Toppers for Halloween

Written by: | Published: October 10, 2012 | Updated: August 16, 2021

Dress up your Halloween cupcakes with these easy DIY toppers. You just need a printer, whatever color paper you’d like (I used brown kraft cardstock), and toothpicks. There are two versions of these toppers you can download. One set is free featuring black and gray stripes with a space to write your own words. The other set is 99 cents and comes with 6 different patterned designs with words already printed such as Boo and Spooky. Print as many as you need and let the Halloween Cupcake decorating begin!

Each design works well with both 1″ and 1.25″ round punches (or  cut out with scissors if you’d like). For extra decorating fun, you can add glitter or additional layers of paper to make a bigger cupcake topper. These Halloween printables are also designed to coordinate with my printable Halloween banner.

The free printable version works really well with the Witch digital stamp set too. Resize the cat and pumpkin and place in the center of your cupcake toppers using a graphic editing program before printing.

Hint: You don’t even have to use cupcakes. This picture above is actually chocolate chip muffins – YUM! The cupcake topper page was printed on orange cardstock in these photos. Think about your decorating colors to choose how you’d like to use these Halloween printables.

I used hot glue to place the toothpicks on the back of each cupcake topper, however you could use tape or standard glue. I’m just not patient enough to wait for glue to dry! These mini decorations would also work well in other treats or use them as embellishments for treat bags and Halloween cards. I also don’t make my own cupcakes – all the time. If you have a recipe you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about it. We love cupcakes around here, how about you?
