DIY Mardi Gras Masks with free SVG

Make your own fun DIY Mardi Gras masks! Mardi Gras masks come in all kinds of designs and colors. From elegant and ornate to bright and bold, each mask has so much personality and fun. You can cut these out yourself or grab the SVG below for a quick Cricut project. This easy craft project is great to do with the kids at home, as a classroom activity or for your Mardi Gras party decor.

DIY Mardi Gras Masks with free SVG

Today I’ve got a free SVG Mardi Gras mask design and printable you can use to create your own unique masks. Cut out the mask shape and then just grab your favorite craft supplies and decorate it however you’d like. The materials you need include all the supplies I used, however you can really decorate your mask with anything you’d like.

Materials

  • Cricut machine
  • Cricut Design Space and Access account
  • Mardi Gras Mask cut out design (see SVG and printable below)
  • Cardstock
  • Glitter glue
  • Sparkly gems
  • Ribbon
  • Colorful feathers
  • Paper straw
  • Craft glue

Instructions

  1. Cut out the Mardi Gras mask shape with your cutting machine and SVG or use the printable as a template to trace and cut with scissors.
  2. Draw pretty designs with the glitter glue.
  3. Glue on gems and feathers.
  4. Allow everything to dry.
  5. Glue on a straw for a handle (this is optional).
  6. Add a curly gold ribbon as a final touch.

Make a Mardi Gras Masquerade Mask with your Cricut

I have a more detailed, layered masquerade mask cut file available through Cricut Design Space as well. You can mix and match the layers to create a variety of masks to use for decorations for your Mardi Gras celebrations.

I hope you have a great time making these masks for Mardi Gras. If you pre-cut the mask shapes, these would make a fun group craft. Pick your favorite materials, cardstock, vinyl, glitter… whatever you’d like and make that crafting happen! Happy Mardi Gras partying.
