When I was a kid, paper dolls were one of my favorites. So of course I’ve created printable paper dolls of my own. I loved playing with paper dolls because there were so many mix and match outfits and you could even make up your own clothing extras. Clothes could be paper or fabric, you could add glitter or even embellish with little stickers. So today I’m sharing some paper dolls I’ve designed. A little paper crafting and a whole lot of handmade fun ahead!
Grab the free paper doll printable I have for you. You can color and decorate it however you’d like then cut it out.
You can decorate these paper dolls however you’d like. I like to use watercolor paints to quickly add color and create some nice color blends. The trick is to not let your paint brush get too wet and don’t over work the color. Gently paint one coat of color and let it throughly dry before adding more layers to help prevent the paper from looking messy. The other option is print the paper doll designs on a water color paper.
I created this fun ombre color effect by adding yellow, orange and pink, each color one right after the other. Again, don’t get the paper too wet or your printer ink could bleed.
I think it would be so much fun to cut the clothing out of scrapbook papers and add glitter and other cute embellishments. You can create a paper doll wardrobe that is personalized and unique.
I also have a PNG file you can use to cut with your Cricut machine. For a limited time, this will be available for free and then I’ll offer it in my etsy shop.
The paper doll set turns out a bit smaller if you are cutting it with your Cricut machine. But I like the mini doll… she’s pretty darn cute!
If you’re making this paper doll to give as a gift, it would be fun to print and cut some blank clothing pieces that your child can decorate themselves.
