Sometimes I don’t want to make the cupcakes for a party. I don’t however, want to pay a lot for those extra fancy, high-end cupcakes either. Today I’m sharing my Pretty Cupcake Decorating Hack. It’s my simple tip to make your own cupcakes fancy without all the extra work. No recipe required, just a few little tricks to make your cupcakes prettier.

Pretty Cupcake Decorating Hack

Easily customize your cupcakes with this simple cupcake hack.

Just buy your favorite cupcake flavors at the local grocery store with plain frosting. Don’t go looking for the fancy colors or toppers. Plain vanilla or chocolate will work just great.

Then decorate the cupcakes however you’d like to make match your party theme. For extra fancy cupcakes, don’t go with your average sprinkles. Instead, get some fancy sprinkles and brownies or cookies to top your cupcakes.

For this batch of decorated cupcakes, i used a chunky gold sprinkle I found at in the cake decorating section at Michaels. I also crumbled some brownies, which I also brought pre-made. You can crumble all kinds of extra treats to add to your cupcakes. Think of your favorite cookies or candies and add those to the top of your cupcakes instead of the typical airbrush colors you see at all the stores.

Your parties will get that extra special presentation look with just a few shortcuts you can create yourself. Then add in a cupcake topper just for your party theme and you’re treats will be perfect for any event!

Homemade Cupcake Decorating Hack

If you want to make your own cupcakes but don’t like decorating them yourself, this hack is a good way to go too. Just add whatever flavor or frosting and then your sprinkles and crumbles. You can buy pre-made frosting or make your own. Add in food coloring for even more personalizing.

Another easy cupcake decorating hack is topping your cupcakes with sprinkles. Here’s a quick tutorial to show you how.
