Make a Halloween Straw Necklace

Next time you are looking for a cute kid craft that is super easy to make, grab some Halloween straws and twine and you’ve got everything you need! Just grab the straws, cut them into small pieces so that resemble beads and then string them together to make a necklace or bracelet or even some fun garland.

I found these fun Halloween printed straws at my local Dollar Tree. The black ones have little skull and bones printed on them and the orange straws are bats and jack-o-lanterns. You could use any straws you like to make all kinds of fun bead stringing activities. We love these paper straws!

We cut the straws in 1″ pieces to make paper beads. Then cut a piece of twine, maybe 24″ long, tie a straw bead to one end to it stays in place and then have fun stringing on the rest of the beads.

Tying the first bead can be a little tricky, but it’s easier than it might seem. Just string the twine through the bead, tie the twine to itself and then pull the end of the twine back through the beed so your line of twine is straight.

Get creative, make all kinds of fun decor and accessories with just some straws and twine! We had some extra fun with food markers and marshmallows too.. but I’ll have to share that tutorial later.

What would you make with a pile of paper beads?
