Watercolor Heart Cards

  • Coffee filters
  • Waterbased markers (washable are best)
  • Scissors
  • Blank cards
  • Glue

  1. Color the coffee filters with the markers. Make sure to color on a covered/protected surface, as the markers may bleed through.
  2. Once you've finished coloring the coffee filter, gently wet the coffee filter – making sure not to over wet. The water will make the color bleed. Shake off any excess water. The color will drip so be prepared with a paper plate or something else to set the coffee filter on to dry.
  3. Fold the dry coffee filter in half, then in half again, repeat 2 more times until you end up with the pie shape shown below.
  4. Cut out half a heart along the paper fold.

Use the cut out heart to make your own handmade card or other Valentine's Day crafts.

  1. Hi;
    I came across your site by accident…. it is definitely a “HAPPY ACCIDENT“ because I can use so many of your projects & ideas with my grandkids…. I am soooo looking forward to making the Valentines (hearts) out of coffee filters. ({so cool!})
    I would also like you to know that the directions, or instructions you give are Spot on, and makes it so easy to follow. [{I plan to share this site with the Parent Teacher Association, as individual Parents/people, it’s about 1250}]
