I just read a little blurb on Facebook through my newsfeed about a site called ThankfulFor.com. The description read something about writing personal journal about what we are Thankful for Today. That struck a cord. Every night at dinner we go around the table and ask eachother “what are you thankful for today?”. There are a few rules at our table but for the most part anything goes. No repeating thankfuls from yesterday. No thankfuls for future events (e.g. “I'm thankful tomorrow is Saturday).
In case you're wondering, yes, all 5 of us sit down to dinner together every night. Somtimes it's not until 8pm, but it's the one thing we actually do consistantly without much wiggle room…
So this all got me thinking… thus my stopping at 11:21pm to write this up to share with you. I'm going to write my little thankful blurb right here every day until Thanksgiving. I challenge you to do the same. Since it's the second, almost the 3rd, I'll write a few to get caught up. No, I don't know anything else about the ThankfulFor.com website. Since I have a number of sites and account all over the place already, I'll just stay right here with my words of thanks. However, I think it's a brilliant idea… so lemming along with me will ya!
I'm thankful:
1. I am a healthy, able bodied gal with talents and skills I can use that make me happy and allow me to support my family.
2. I am blessed with family and friends that not only care about me, but share in my joys and sorrows, have influenced my life and helped me be the me I am today. (Cliche or not, it's true). There are so many people I've crossed paths with that have taught me things, shared inspirations, helped me reach in new directions and encouraged me to step beyond that comfort zone… they've helped me in more ways than I can count. Truly very grateful for each and every one of you.
And a bonus for tomorrow:
3. I am able to work from home, around my husband and my kids every day. It's an amazing experience I wouldn't trade for the world. Not to mention I'm thankful I have work to do from home.. thank goodness for that!
What are YOU thankful for today?
