Quick mason jar dress up

If you’re looking for a quick way to dress up a mason jar to give a homemade gift, here’s an idea you can whip out in no time. Using some re-purposed book pages, twine or yarn and the pretty scalloped edge box die cut Sizzix shape by Eileen Hull, you can make a plain mason jar go from blah to chic in 3 minutes flat!

I added a hand colored paper butterfly to one of the jars for a bit of extra flare. This butterfly art digital stamp from my own design collection available at LilGoodies.com. The paper I used is from an outdated business law book… I knew there was a reason I was keeping it around!

You can use this simple technique of adding fancy cut papers to spruce up mason jars for storage too. One of my jars is used to store colorful buttons.

  1. Cut out the paper using your Sizzix machine and Eileen’s die.
  2. Add double sided tape to the jar.
  3. Apply paper to the tape.
  4. Wrap with twine and tie with a simple bow.
  5. To add extra details, use glue to hold in place.

You don’t have to make complicated projects or super details art pieces to add your own personal touch to something to make it unique. 1. So cute! Boy I could see a lot of uses for this die, shrubs, clouds and even awnings, just from looking at your sweet jar covers. I guess thats what hopping is all about, but it always surprises me when it happens. LOL ;)))
