Pretty Decorated HERSHEY’S Reeses Easter Eggs

Written by: | Published: March 27, 2014 | Updated: March 24, 2022

Today we’re going to talk candy, Easter candy from HERSHEY’S to be specific. I was invited to share some Easter creative inspiration and tell you about  CelebrateWithHersheys.com to find some fabulous inspiration for your Easter celebration, Easter baskets and maybe even a decorating idea or two. I was sent a big box of HERSHEY’S goodies, some were even new to me… Which is your favorite?

Now on to the real fun. I was asked to come up with a fun Easter idea to share with you. I was thinking of making something delicious, but I’m not much of a recipe inventor and my 3 recipe attempts didn’t turn out so well. So I decided if doodling is good enough for appreciating, it’s good enough to eat. Yes, we’re making edible art today and HERSHEY’S Reese’s White Chocolate Eggs are the perfect canvas!

It’s really pretty easy. I’m positive you can do it too!

What you need:

  • HERSHEY’S Reese’s White Chocolate Eggs
  • Easter colored sugar sprinkles
  • Small paint brush
  • Small bowl of water

How to make your own decorated Reese’s Eggs

  1. Using your paint brush, add dots or stripes of water to the surface of the candy egg. You might need to drip water as the surface of the candy does not hold the water well.
  2. Carefully add sprinkles on to the water painted design.
  3. Allow the water to dry overnight. This should result in the sprinkles hardening and adhering to the surface of the Reese’s Egg.
  4. Carefully blow or brush off any excess sprinkles. I use the same paint brush to gently sweep off excess.

Tip: If you’d like to add multiple colors of sprinkles, apply one color and allow it to dry for about 30-60 minutes and then add additional water designs and colors. This will help prevent the colors from all bleeding into each other.

The sprinkles on these candies still need to be brushed off. Make sure you allow the water to dry or you’ll end up painting the sprinkle colors on to your egg designs.

  1. So, I forgot to add the correct comments to my post above!!!

Our favorite Easter tradition is having a big Easter Egg Hunt will all of our neighbors in the cul-de-sac! So much fun to see all of the kids running around searching for eggs!

My favorite Easter Idea from CelebratewithHersheys.com are the cupcakes with the grass and jellybean eggs! These have always been a favorite!
