October 11th is day to grab your family and head to one of many Colorado restaurants for the 2nd annual PJs and Eggs event. The Colorado Egg Producers association is behind this charitable event that supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. This year, the event will also be contributing to local families in need from the recent floods.
How it works, in a (nut) shell…
Show up at one of the participating restaurants, order breakfast, lunch or brinner (breakfast for dinner – my FAV!), and a portion of your meal cost will be donated. Not only are you invited to show up in your PJs, bring a pair of new Kid sized PJs to be donated as well.
Additionally, you can order a ticket online for the PJs and Eggs event ahead of time and you will receive 1 dozen eggs to take home. Eggtastic! (I’d say that’s a cheezy comment, but in my state of mind right now, that just reminds me of cheezy eggs.. now I’m hungry).
Some questions you might have – or questions I had and happy to share the answers with you…
- Are their restrictions on meal choice?
There is no restrictions to meal choices. The ticket (purchased online) allows you to receive one entree and non-alcoholic beverage from the restaurant you select on Eventbrite.
- What type of eggs are offered as part of the 1 dozen included in the participation fee?
The Colorado Egg Producers Association prefers to answer this as Colorado farm fresh eggs, as each farmer produces different eggs.
- Does the guest simply buy a ticket online and bring that with them to the restaurant?
Attendees can either purchase tickets in advance on Eventbrite or show up at any restaurant the day of the event (noting that different restaurants have different hours). If they purchase the ticket in advance they print it and bring it to the restaurant they chose. If they show up, a portion the cost of their meal will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and they will also have the opportunity to enter a prize drawing at that location.
We love eggs, and especially love breakfast food… any time of day! So I’m taking my family to Breakfast on Broadway. I’ll share my yummy food photos with you later, or maybe I will see you there!
Where will go for breakfast for PJs and Eggs on October 11th?
Don’t forget to bring extra PJs for the kids in need!
