We hosted out annual holiday party yesterday. Usually we wait and host a party a little later in the season but I thought it would be fun to try the beginning of the month before all the company parties and kick off the season with a Goode grin. We had a fantastic time mingling with the neighbors and friends who were willing to trek through the super cold snow just some food and drinks.
My oldest son is a huge fan of brownies and is always asking to make them. He usually has no intention of sharing, but because I buy the mixes, he suffers through and saves a couple. So over the weekend, when I received a request to write about dessert with friends and Duncan Hines I jumped at the chance, perfect opportunity! What better time to make some brownies than for a holiday party? I grabbed a box of Duncan Hines brownies in the midst of all the grocery shopping, my oldest son made them and our guests ate them right up. Super easy and delicious treat for the holiday festivities.
I'd show you some more festive photos of our party, but we were having so much fun and so busy stuffing our faces with food that I forgot to take other photos… I ment to get a great photo of the plate of brownies, but there again missed my opportunity so had to grab this brownie for a quick shot before they were all gone
Some great things you can do with your holiday brownies and friends:
- Serve with hot chocolate with or without Bailey's
- Add sprinkles, nuts, extra chocolate chips, min candies, frosting
- Instead of a cookie decorating table, offer a brownie decorating activity
- Put on a plate, cover in plastic, add a bow and give as a yummy gift – yes, you could get fancier and find pretty gift boxes to pack your brownie gifts in as well.
- Pack in an air tight container and ship off to someone special
Duncan Hines has fantastic brownie mix. Make it with friends, eat brownies fresh out of the oven or save for a party or gift. We eat brownies all year long but I think they are extra yummy during the holidays… nothing like some Merry Christmas music and a warm brownie to munch on!
