Gardening Progress from my Deck

Published: July 31, 2013 | Updated: June 5th, 2017

If you've been following me on Instagram, you might remember earlier this summer I planted some vegetable seeds in pots out on my deck?  My gardening skills seem to be lacking. It's been so hot and I've been traveling on and off all summer so the poor plants have been struggling. They get watered and then dry out and shrivel up. Makes me sad these poor seeds are at my mercy, but I keep trying to help them grow the best I can.

Well today, I went outside to check on everyone and look what I found! This sweet pea plant is popping out with all kinds of cute little peas. I never saw the tiny peas or the flowers, it's like they just showed up over night. I'm so excited – Gardening Success! Now all I need is the spinach I forgot to plant and the tomatoes that are taking their time growing and we'll have a real salad… for a smurf! (maybe a couple more people can share, if I pretend the grocery store veggies can play in the same salad bowl.  Gardening from my deck progress photo on Instragram is here.
