As creative as I think I am and as good as I think my color picking is, I seem to constantly struggle with decorating. I'm also a master at organizing… in my mind's eye. If you look at my studio or anywhere else in my house, I appear to be a mess of chaos. Really that comes down to my unwillingness to spend the money it will take to decorate or organize properly. So my mis-matched containers and random compartments fill spaces with mis-matched materials and supplies. Everything just looks messy.
So – here's my latest reading for inspiration. I absolutely adore IKEA and we finally have a store here in Denver, so I don't have to rely completely on the catalogue however I can visit the store and then come home and reminisce over the pretty pictures. We also have a Restoration Hardware – or we did, I haven't been to the mall in a long time. Both are my fav places to check out decorating ideas and I would happily live in either store if I thought they'd let me.
Then enters the Organizing for Dummies. I'm not a dummy, but I'm happy to wear the hat if it means my chaos might be calmed and I can find those damn scissors when I need them.
I'll let you know how it goes. I've finally finding the mental ability to purge. I'm not getting rid of a TON of things, but I am letting go, so that's a start. My creative hording is slowly converting into creative organizing AND creative using. Yes, I'm using the material instead of just keeping it. Imagine that concept! I'll share photos of my progress soon. If you'd like some great ideas to help you get organized too, follow my organization board on Pinterest.
