I shop around for places to rent from time to time. Some are extremely organized, usually there is some kind of system that makes it easy to understand. However, today I found a place that I don’t understand at all. The numbering of booths was not in any kind of logical order, and to rent a space you have to teleport to another area. I’ve seen this before, but not like this.
This particular location had the rental area organized in a completely different way than the actual booths. Lots of booths were empty, but didnt have rental boxes… and then ones that did have rental boxes, it didnt matter anyway because you had to go to the rental platform to manage the rent.
If I have to work that hard just to rent a space in an area I have no idea I’ll even make a sale… how hard is it going to be to do other things?
I think shopping area owners need to make sure that its nearly painless for renters to find a spot, set up shop and start selling. It’s hard enough to try to develop products others might want, be found in the search, let others know the products exists… without having to struggle with the locations of selling point.
Other the years I have found a number of fabulous rental locations, hopefully I’ll be able to share more with you about those places in the future.
