Fall Decor Art Printable

I created this art while watching the rain the other day. I didn’t have a project in mind, I just wanted to draw. So I thought I’d share the art with you and you can create your own amazing fall decor. So instead of making a big fancy project, I thought I’d brainstorm some ideas with you and see what you think…

I started to combine the art with fabric so I could making a sewing project. I haven’t quite decided if I want to make a pillow or wall decor. I printed the art onto a fabric transfer and then ironed on to a natural fabric. I sewing some textured lines and swirls with the same fabric and added some additional details. I think I might add some fall colored fabrics or ribbons for an even more interesting mixed media style piece. I might add some of the leaves too… but I also have a wreath I started along with a little gift tag. Just an another idea example, I put this same sewing piece in a frame so you can see how this fall art could be used to dress up your mantel.

When I finish this pillow, I’ll share what I decided to go with. I do love all the texture from hand stitched lines and natural fabrics. But, I also think that pretty orange pumpkin needs some friends.. it’s a little too stand alone there. Don’t you think? Maybe I’ll get a little ambitious and start painting on the fabric… wouldn’t that be fun!?

If I were going for super fast and easy, instead of hand stitching, I’d use fabric glue and fake it. Who’s going to know if you don’t tell them? Also, instead of making a pillow from scratch, just make a pillow cover and you can use it over one of your already handy decorative pillows. That’s not cheating, that’s being resourceful!

If you don’t sew, what about using the art in a collage. Combine it with my fall leaf printable to make garland or a table accent.
