So I know cupcakes are awesome and sprinkles are awesome, so cupcake decorating with sprinkles should be out of this world amazing awesome, right? Today’s quick tip isn’t a tough to do, but I thought I’d share my little trick for adding sprinkles to cupcakes.

Usually I would just frost the cupcake and just start dumping the sprinkles on top. What tends to happen next is the cupcake has a couple sprinkles on it and the counter has all the rest. Sad Face. To help avoid the lost sprinkles and sprinkle mess (sounds like a major world dilemma, right?), here’s what I do…

Pour an entire container of candy sprinkles into a small bowl. Make sure the bowl is larger than the top of the cupcake.

Ingredients

  • Candy cupcake/cake sprinkles
  • Small bowl
  • Frosting
  • Cupcakes

Instructions

  1. Frost the cupcake
  2. Carefully dip the frosted cupcake into the bowl of sprinkles and press gently.

This should apply sprinkles to the entire top of the frosted cupcake and VOILA, you look like you have magical cupcake sprinkle powers! AND, your counter will no longer be covered in sprinkles. I can’t guarantee you won’t have a few rogue sprinkles along the countertop, but that pile of sprinkles will be no more.
